Firstly thank you Winter for providing the cold weather, the rain, the hibernation, the time for reflection and warming foods. It’s definitely been a whirlwind of confusion for me – going through end of work contracts, not knowing where to go next, sustaining income and my beloved classes that I teach. I have been doing more classes in the hope to create the change I wish to see. It’s all been great and also confronting. I like to keep it real and say it how it is most of the time for me – being upfront! ๐ But these last few months have certainly giving me the time to step into my potential ( getting there), let go of things that don’t work for me (constantly evolving) and also trying new ways, learning new things and also keeping the discipline to do what I love and keep committed to it. I love to also challenge myself, to step out of my comfort zone and allow the opportunity for growth and new possibilities.
As I reflect back on the year so far, here are somethings I’ve taken the steps to do:
- Teaching Mat Pilates weekly.
- Added more Nia Classes to the weekly schedule – 4 new classes!
- Held and co-facilitated a Nia day retreat.
- Started learning Flamenco – and I absolutely love it – such a new challenge for me.
- Completed my Nia Move it! Training – so perhaps this may come into weekly classes schedule at some point if it feels the need.
- Giving myself some time off to re-calibrate my body, mind and spirit.
These are some main things I can look back on that have taken place over the Autumn/Winter period regardless of the ‘not knowing WTF is going on. So now during this transition into Spring, i’m starting to dream, return to myself, and look at ways to continue to do what I love. One goal I set out last year for 2025 was to do some Silk Fan classes, and that hasn’t eventuated – yet! ๐ but the year is not over and perhaps it may or may not eventuate. I have certainly been doing my own play with them at least. I think Flamenco & Nia Classes has taking the lead at the moment! But the thought is there, if it decides to create.

So that’s enough about what i’ve been doing and reflecting on. I hope you have been doing some reflection and goal setting for yourself too. Totally fine if not though – I like doing it as it gives me a purpose I guess. But love to do nothing as well – which usually happens when i’m sleeping! ๐ So regardless I feel grateful for all that’s happened, and so lucky really.
Thanks for your time in reading and supporting.
With love,
Mel
